A new collaboration for ACT4ECO: Cyprus Energy Agency

A new partnership to strengthen ACT4ECO promotion and expand its outreach was recently formed with Cyprus Energy Agency (CEA). Our project, in fact, shares target and goals with the Agency: they both aim at making citizens aware on the importance of energy efficiency and of their fundamental role in saving energy in their everyday lives, as a way to protect the environment and fight climate change.

Saving energy while maintaining our usual comfortable living standards is one of the main challenges of our time. ACT4ECO platform addresses this issue by providing simple and “smart” solutions to efficiently manage energy consumption in our households. CEA supports this mission and is ready to help the Consortium spreading knowledge about the platform in a new country – Cyprus!

What has been done until now and what are the plans for the future?

Hebes Intelligence, the Greek Partner of ECO2 Consortium contacted CEA and proposed to activate a collaboration aimed at providing Cypriot citizens with know-how, knowledge and energy saving tips to be adopted in their energy consumption behaviours. CEA agreed to promote the platform through its channels and will further engage in disseminating it through its wide network. Until now, the following actions have been implemented:

  • An article on ACT4ECO was published on the Agency’s website.
  • A newsletter featuring a news on the platform was issued in three languages (English, Greek and Turkish) and sent to more than 5.000 contacts.

CEA is a non-profit organisation acting as an information point for citizens of Cyprus and local authorities, by providing training, support and implementation of actions in the field of energy efficiency. Their final goal is to contribute to mitigation and adaptation to climate change. CEA is also active in a number of EU projects focusing on sustainability and the shaping of a green low carbon economy, and it has a strong network of contacts– such as Hebes Intelligence, which succeeded in activating this interesting partnership.
