Would you like to reduce the impact of energy consumption on the environment? Are you ready to make some change in your home, making it more energy efficient? Or, to put it simply, are you ready to learn some tips and tricks on how to save energy in your everyday life?
If answered positively, then you are in the right place!
Welcome on ACT4ECO, an e-learning and transformative group learning platform that will support EU citizens in increasing their awareness on energy consumption, both at home and in their daily activities, and in reducing their carbon footprint.
Act4Eco will involve you in an interactive and dynamic e-learning process, and you will find plenty of practical and easily applicable best practices. The approach aims at creating online communities, together with other consumers that share the same values and objectives, namely:
- Reducing energy costs;
- Monitoring energy efficiency actions;
- Increasing awareness and consciousness of efficiency control in order to reduce your impact on the planet.
Act4Eco will enable you to choose the training path that fits your needs. In fact, there are 24 actions that can be implemented, divided into 5 main categories:
- Improve your home: in this session we will tell you how to improve the air tightness and the insulation of your home, particularly by upgrading your windows and by acting on your heating, cooling and ventilating system.
- Become a smart consumer: you will learn how to use your thermostat in order to optimize the performance of your system and avoiding heat loss, and we will see how to decode energy labels that you can find on all house appliances and electronic devices.
- Manage your energy consumption: from your energy bill to renewable energy. In this session you will discover that generally we use house appliances in an inefficient way, and that your everyday habits have an important impact on your energy bills.
- Sustain efficient energy use: are you sure that replacing lighting bulbs with LED is enough to become a champion in energy efficiency? Or that it is sufficient to buy highly performative appliances? The answer is no. Change must come from you, from your consumption habits and from your perception of energy use in everyday life.
- Produce your own energy: have you ever thought about becoming a prosumer, i.e. self-producing the energy that you need to satisfy your needs? If you wish to decipher the world of renewable energy, first of all you have to understand the difference between photovoltaic systems and solar water heating systems. In this session you will find everything you need to satisfy your curiosity.
